Richard Naslund Obituary

Richard Naslund passed away at St. Francis Hospital on January 27, 2019, with both of his daughters by his side.

Richard was born June 6, 1932, in Monroe, Washington, to Ernest and Anna Naslund.  He grew up with his brothers Lars, John, and David on the Carnation Farm in Monroe where his dad was the foreman until his family moved to their own farm on Kent’s East Hill and welcomed his sister Sharon.

He graduated from Kent Meridian high school.  After graduation he worked at Boeing and served his country as a fuel driver in the Army during the Korean War.  He eventually went to work for American Can Company as a machinist for 35 years until he retired.

He married Lois Rolfes on May 19, 1962.  They had two daughters, Leanne and Lisa, and spent just short of 49 years happily married until Lois passed away in May of 2011.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, vacationing in Reno and Tahoe, spending time with his family and friends at home and at the lake property, and travelling with Lois and the Leisure Sam’s Club in their motor home.

Richard is survived by his daughter Leanne and husband Marty, daughter Lisa and husband Cory, his brothers Lars and John, and his sister Sharon.  He was Uncle Dick to many nieces and nephews & great nieces and nephews.  He also has a step granddaughter, two step great granddaughters, and an extensive surrogate family.
