Gary Enders Obituary

Gary was born on November 7, 1951, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Surrounded by the love of his family, he passed away on July 10, 2022. Gary was the youngest child of Henry and Mearl Enders and he emigrated from Canada with his family in 1955 to Walla Walla. He lived in Eastern Washington, and in 1971 he joined the Air Force and served until 1977. He met his wife Vicki in Yakima, Washington, while working together at the Bank of Yakima. They were married on February 14, 1981 and were blessed with two children.

Gary worked as Vice President of Item Processing Services at several banks until he retired in 2016. His work took him to Yakima, Bellingham, Seattle, Auburn, CA, Portland, Oak Harbor, Tukwila, and Spokane.

He loved camping, gardening, cars, helping others, looking for a good deal, traveling, and especially cruising with family and friends. Gary loved photography and could always be found with a camera in hand on trips and during family gatherings. He loved baseball, especially watching his son Andy play. He was a true Mariners fan, win or lose.

Gary’s greatest love and joy was his family. He loved having the family together and created many cherished memories through family trips and holidays. He especially loved spending time with his grandson Ollie and was very much looking forward to welcoming another grandson this fall.

He was a proud member of Peace Lutheran Church for 21 years where he served the Lord faithfully as an elder. His love for the Lord was obvious and he was always willing to help others selflessly. He was always positive and he loved talking to people, making friends wherever he went. He was outgoing, kind, and loved sharing all of the ways he felt blessed. He will always be lovingly remembered by his family and friends and we will greatly miss his kindness, positivity, and love.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Vicki, their beloved dog Poppy, his daughter Alyssa, her husband Nathaniel, and their baby boy on the way.  He is also survived by his son Andy, his partner Vanessa, and their son Oliver; his sister Donna Hughes, nieces and nephew in Texas, and several cousins in Canada.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Richard Enders and Dave Enders.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (https://www.pancan.org/) or Peace Lutheran Church (https://www.peacecovington.org/home).

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
