Irene Marie (Hayvaz) Hannon was born November 2, 1937 in Aberdeen, Washington, the youngest of 2 girls and 2 boys. She graduated from Weatherwax High School and went to work for the Bureau of Roads. She resigned from there and flew to France to marry Cedric Hannon, who was teaching on an Air Force Base in Dreux, France. They were married December 17, 1959 and honeymooned in Europe, where the highlights of her trip were seeing Prince Rainier and Princess Grace in front of the Royal Palace in Monaco and attending the Grand Prix. They lived overseas for 5 years before returning and settling in Kent, Washington and raising their children. She was an avid PTA member, winning the Golden Acorn award. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She worked for several years at the warehouse at the Bon Marche, making several good friends. She and her husband loved traveling in their RV, making several trips cross country and up and down the coast. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Kucera (Bob), her son Timothy, grandchildren Dana, Kali, and Michael, great grandsons Peyton and Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at Edline-Yahn Funeral Chapel 27221 156th Ave SE in Covington on Monday January 8th at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow the service at the family home. She will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery with her husband, Cedric. Irene was a giving person and supported several charities.
