On Friday, August 18, 2023, Mark Lamphere passed away unexpectedly at his home in Kent, WA.
Mark was born on August 13, 1946, in Seattle, WA. He attended Garfield High School and worked at Wonder Bread/Hostess Cake for almost 40 years. Mark was serving in the Air Force Reserves when he married Eileen Yamada. They raised a daughter, Cheryl, and son, Ryan.
Mark is survived by his wife, Eileen, children Cheryl (Chris), Ryan (Elise), Marie, Teresa, grandchildren Max, Kai, Riggins, Sutter, Tabitha, Vanessa, Vance, Ryan, and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, Howard, and sisters, Dorothy and Laurie, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Howard and his mother, Josephine, his brothers, Charlie and Eldon, and sister, Eleanor and former son-in-law, Tam Vu.
A funeral service will be held on September 6th at the Edline-Yahn & Funeral Chapel in Kent at 11:30 AM with burial at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Burial Park. A celebration of life will immediately follow the burial at Lake Meridian Park.
Mark was supportive of the Japanese American Citizens League, especially the Puyallup Valley Chapter. In lieu of flowers or Koden, please make donations to the Puyallup Valley JACL.
