Matthew Pennerman Obituary

May eternal rest, grant unto Matthew Alexander Pennerman O’Lord and let your perpetual light shine upon him— We honor the life of Matthew Alexander Pennerman born on January 26, 1988 to Rita Branch (Bizzell) and William Pennerman in San Diego, California. “Alex” was a true magnanimous person. He could lose without complaining and win without gloating. He radiated warmth and kindness with his big smile. Alex was studying psychology to become a clinical psychologist all while serving the last 10 years for the US Navy as a Master at arms Petty Officer, K9 handler and advancing in rank to a First Class Petty Officer.

Alex met and fell in love with his wife Annalisa in 2014. They married in 2015. Their love and friendship was a blessing to their two sons- Joshua Pennerman (9) and Kyrie Pennerman (6). Alex loved his family and embraced fatherhood sharing his passions and hobbies with them. He always found time for many teaching moments about love, accountability, and serving Jesus. His simple love for dirt bikes was an opportunity to teach and ride with his boys. Alex’s family commitment was devoted with unwavering determination to raise confident, humble, responsible young men who will grow to have concern and compassion for others with morals built on faith. Along with being a great father, Alex was a devoted and loving husband. Alex and Annalisa were a great team who prioritized family time together.

Alex was known best for his kindness, his wisdom, and as a thoughtful person who touched so many. He loved being out in nature and appreciated the beauty of the Pacific northwest, where he loved to call home.

With his compassion and regard for others he held a special concern for the welfare of others in need. Family and friends will continue to remember Alex as the loving and gentle man he was.

He is survived by his wife, Annalisa Pennerman, his sons, Joshua & Kyrie Pennerman, father, William Pennerman, mother, Rita Bizzell, brothers, Henry & Justin Pennerman, sister, Mia Perry and grandmother Geraldine Pennerman.

Our family would like to thank you for your support and prayers during this difficult time. Your words of comfort and expression of kindness are greatly appreciated.
