Nathaniel Lee Pierson

Nathaniel Lee Pierson, beloved father and grandfather, lost a brief battle with metastatic Pancreatic cancer on January 30, 2021. In addition to his younger sister, Kenyetta Pierson-Benjamin, Nate is survived by 8 children, 13 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius Pierson Jr. and Pauline Pierson (née Parker), and his youngest sister, Linda Pierson-Byrd. Nate was a proud Army veteran and will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, WA.

Nate was born in Ripley, Tennessee on January 28, 1953. When he was 8 years old, his parents relocated their family to Chicago’s Southside neighborhood. Nate was an avid learner as well as athletically gifted and played several sports in high school. At 18 years old, he joined the 101st Airborne Division of the Army. Not long after discharging from the Army, Nate relocated to the Pacific Northwest. While attending Eastern Washington University in Ellensburg where he played football, Nate met Mary Hurn; they married and later had 7 children: Adrienne Hurn (Pierson), Alicia Pierson, Alena Santana (née Pierson), Aaron Pierson, Ariel Pierson, Austin Pierson, and Annastasia Pierson. 

Nate, retired from the workforce, enjoyed playing pool with his friends and watching classic movies in his spare time. He was a devoted family man and loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren.
