Peter Eugene Ruhl
Born 7-17-1940 Seattle, WA
Died 5-23-2021 at the age of 80 after a strong battle with cancer.
Born in Seattle, and raised in Renton, Wa.
He joined the navy in 1958. In 1960 he met his wife Sila in Hawaii, while she was performing as a professional hula dancer.
They knew each other for 33 days before they got married. Their marriage lasted for over 60 years until his death. Peter retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service where he spent most of those years in San Diego, California and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After his retirement in 1977, he moved his family to his hometown of Renton, Washington, where he started his second career as an Owner Operator Truck Driver for the next 30 plus years.
They raised 3 sons, Bert (who passed away in 1994), Pete Ruhl, and Lucky Ruhl (wife Karen). He leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Breanne Guest (Chris Guest), Joshua Ruhl (Mackenzie), Sila Ruhl (Ian Wells), Elijah Ruhl, Savannah Ruhl, Lucas Ruhl, Bryce Ruhl, Brooklynn Ruhl, and his great granddaughter Jordyn Guest. He is survived by his sisters Linda Ruhl and Debbie Gleason. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and most recently great grandfather. Even though he will be greatly missed, we know he is in a better place, and waiting to be with each and every one of us again.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday (6/15/21) at 12:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Covington, Wa. (16846 SE 240th St E.). Followed by a 2:00pm burial Service at Tahoma National Cemetery (18600 SE 240th St. Kent, WA).
