Robert Kitto Obituary

Bob was born on June 6, 1942, in Bellevue, Washington, to Paul and Eleanor (Somers) Kitto. He passed away on December 25, 2020 in Seattle, Washington.  Bob attended Bellevue High School where he enjoyed participating in sports. Bob graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University.  He went on to the University of Washington where he graduated with a Juris Doctor.

Bob had a respected law practice in Kent, Washington for over 50 years.   It was here where he met his loving wife, Lois.   They married in 1979 and enjoyed many years fishing, golfing and spending time with their many friends and family.

Bob was an active member in the community serving two terms on the Kent City Council, as the Fire Commissioner for Fire Protection District No. 37 and as the President of Meridian Valley Country Club.   Bob and Lois enjoyed many activities within the country club including where Bob liked running the golf horse races and served many years as the jolly man himself, Santa Claus, during the annual children’s Christmas party.  He took his role so seriously that even his own grandchildren didn’t recognize him.

One of Bob’s most important roles was that of Papa to his three grandsons.  “Papa Bob” helped to instill their love of golf and fishing.   He was known to take time off of his busy work schedule to attend their golf tournaments.

Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lois, and his stepchildren Kirk (Sue) Peters and Sue Peters and his grandchildren Austin (Sydney), Chase and Brendon.

His warm smile and contagious laugh will be missed but never forgotten.   Bob will be forever in our hearts.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date.
